Join Joy for a simple, quiet and contemplative Yin practice this Wednesday night. Yin yoga works deeply, it targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues. Connective tissue is made up of ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia network of the body.
A Yin yoga class consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly focus on the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower back. These areas are especially rich in connective tissue. During the asanas, muscles are relaxed to avoid muscle spasm.
