The floor makes things accessible that, in other orientations, may seem impossible. It gives us honest feedback, tells us where we are tense and invites us to embrace its support.
This class will explore how a floor focused asana practice can be just as dynamic as a traditional practice. Almost any asana can be adapted to the floor and can shift our perception on how we practice. The floor can help us build heat, gain strength, feel balance and find openings.
The floor, like yoga, meets us where we are. It lends us stability that is impossible to take away. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable—even painful—but those moments are there to remind us to relax, shift, soften our tension, breathe and reclaim our fluidity.
