This class blends slow flow asana practice with self-massage techniques using massage therapy balls, and elements of somatics.
One of the core tenets of yoga is self-study. Your body is unique to you. So is your envelope of movement. But your body isn’t just muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons. It’s also fascia—soft tissue that threads through and encases every organ, muscle, ligament and tendon in your body. And your envelope of movement isn’t just range of motion. It’s also breath, which makes movement possible.
Each class will help you come to know your body and your envelope of movement through yoga poses, massage therapy ball techniques and gentle movements along with little bits about physical and energetic anatomy in order to unlock the innate wisdom and deep healing capability stored within.
Most regular yoga props will be utilized, along with Massage Therapy Balls (two tennis balls and a sock can work as well.
