This donation-based class is an opportunity to stretch your body, soothe your systems, and open your heart to the good work that The Oxygen Project does in our community. Seasoned yogis and newcomers alike will enjoy gentle movement with lots of choice and cued attention to our life-giving breath. This class will showcase techniques and mindfulness practices that center on celebrating the body’s capabilities and beauty, sure to leave you feeling uplifted and grateful. All proceeds will directly benefit The Oxygen Project’s programming and outreach for local youth experiencing chronic stress.
The mission of The Oxygen Project is to empower youth to face everyday stress and significant life challenges with resilience and calm, through yoga and mindfulness techniques. The Oxygen Project partners with schools and youth organizations in the St. Louis area to serve school-aged youth (ages 5-18), with a focus on offering programs in underserved communities that serve students who are mostly youth of color and from low-income households, and therefore, have likely experienced chronic stress or trauma. Programs are designed to address the social, emotional, and mental impact of trauma and stress on youth, as well as the adults who work with them, and include: weekly youth yoga & mindfulness classes, staff wellness classes, and professional development.
